Well, we tried to continue our pumpkin patch tradition of checking the kids out of school on the first cool day of the fall, going to the pumpkin patch and having a fun day as a family. The days at the Clanton pumpkin patch were some of our favorite times as a family. Well, it wasn't exactly the same happy experience. Abilene doesn't exactly have the same beautiful pumpkin patches like we had in Alabama. We pulled up to the Abilene pumpkin patch and it was just some pumpkins set up in front of a building--the kids were shocked. I guess Baylea Jane may never know the joys of going to the pumpkin patch like the other kids know. I think we will have to start new family traditions here in West Texas--like we learned last year about cutting down our own christmas tree---not happening here!
