Barrett- Year five was a big year for you with lots of firsts. You have such a fun-loving spirit! You are the life of the party and our family, you are a peace-maker, you are a rule follower and a God lover. You also have a little bit of a temper that comes out when others are breaking the rules and not being fair. I love these things about you! This year you finally decided it was okay for us to laugh at your funny self. You also decided just a couple of months ago that you like being cute. You tell me that you like being little so you can crawl under things to get stuff for me. You even created things to get the laugh while always being thoughtful and loving to those around you. One night when I brought dinner to the table Braeden and Brooklynn moaned and groaned about the chicken, but you said you loved my "shicken" and even created "The shicken dance: I love the shicken, I love the shicken" A sad day came just a couple of weeks ago when you came home from Kindergarten and said, "Guess what, I learned how to say shicken today, listen--ch-ch-ch- chicken" We were all so proud, but also a little sad--even Braeden:) Because you learned to say ch- for chicken that means there is no more "shurch". So many milestones this year, but it's always bitter sweet to see my little boy growing up.

| You requested pumpkin pie for your birthday cake--you just discovered you liked it this Thanksgiving. |
| You played t-ball for the first time this year, but mono kept you from finishing the season. I'm not sure you will play next year, because the grandma coach on your team scared you pretty bad. It may be a couple of years before you decide you want to play again. |
| You learned to swim this summer. |
| You learned to ride on two wheels this summer and the next day we went to the beach. You, Grandmama, Brooklynn and Aunt Gena went on a 6 mile bike ride. |
| You are our silly boy! And Carter loves you so much, he wants to be just like you... |
| and you want to be just like Braeden! |
| and you love your sister! |
You started Kindergarten this year. You said Kindergarten isn't near as fun as we said it would be, but even though you won't admit it I think you really like it-and you love Mrs. Ray!
| You also are quite adventurous. Can you see the white speck in the top of this tree? Brooklynn came inside and said you needed help getting down out of the tree. She wasn't joking. You were about 25 ft in the tree and standing on tiny branches--scared me to death!! You weren't scared a bit, but wanting to go higher. |
| Sam is still your best buddy-even if you don't go to school together anymore. BFF! |
| You are our sweet Barrett and we love you dearly! |
